TCCA Yoga project aims to provide a healthy leisure opportunity for the community
members in a modern and friendly environment. The community members have a
break from the stresses of their everyday lives and learn an effective way to exercise
and relax.
Yoga is an ancient system which derives from Indian philosophy. What is generally
taught in the classrooms is called ‘Hatha Yoga’ that focuses on physical body. It
combines movement and breath to exercise and purify the body’s muscles, nerves
and glands.
The regular practice of yoga improves both the physical and mental state. It strengthens
the muscles, tones and firms the body and increases flexibility. It relieves tension,
refreshes the body and mind and boosts the energy.
Yoga reduces the negative effects of stress and leads to a balanced state. It improves
concentration. Yoga also helps alleviate many common complaints such as insomnia,
anxiety, IBS, digestive disorders, backache and headaches.
