TCCA Management Committee

 

Türkay Hadji-Fillipou (Chair)

Türkay is our current Chair. She has been working for the TCCA for over 15 years in a variety of roles. She began working for TCCA in 1995, as an Information and Advice officer, after a short spell she moved on to take to position of Homecare co-ordinator managing in organisations homecare project, during a period of substantive growth. Türkay moved onto acquire a post as a Community Development officer for London Borough Enfield (following a secondment Türkay that year achieved the qualification to become Social Worker). However her departure as an employee from TCCA did not end her commitment to the organisation and in 1998 was elected to the position of treasurer, which she held until 2002.

 

Hasan Başkal (Vice Chair)

Hasan has been a member of the organisation’s Management Committee for the past four years, during which period he held the position of treasure and for the past two years as the organisation’s vice chair. During the acquisition of 628-630 Green Lanes. Hasan played a pivotal role in the renovation and planning of the new premises. Hasan works as professional architect.

 

Duran Husnu (Hon. Secretary)

Duran has been an active member of TCCA for many years. A second-generation British Cypriot Duran currently works in a local school in Enfield and has a high level of awareness of the educational issues facing young British Turkish Cypriots in the UK.

 

Niyazi Enver

Niyazi has been part of TCCA management committee for over four years but his work with the organisation dates back to 1984, and at the time was the founder of Toplum Postasi. He become the first editor of the community paper, a position he held for until 1987. Currently Niyazi owns a restaurant in Bethnal Green. A respected community member, he has two children.

 

Semra Gülbahar

Semra joined TCCA’s management committee in 2000 as an elected management committee member, and currently holds the position of secretary. Semra currently works for the London Borough of Enfield as a bilingual Systemic Psychotherapist with families from the Turkish Speaking communities.

 

Suzan Huseyin

With a strong business background, Suzan has for many years worked for a big corporate company in the city of London. In her spare time, Suzan volunteers at a local British Cypriot football team in North London. With a passion for the British Turkish Cypriot community, she is an extremely conscientious and effective team player.

 

Tahsin Ibrahim

A well-respected member of the British Turkish Cypriot community, Mr Ibrahim is a local North London businessman who is actively involved in local issues. Eager to serve the community, Mr Ibrahim joined TCCA management committee in 2008.

Ibrahim Mani

A well-respected member of the British Turkish Cypriot community, Mr Ibrahim is a local North London businessman who is actively involved in local issues. Keen to serve the community, Mr Ibrahim joined TCCA management committee in 2008.
